Basketball Recap: Rancho Verde Comes Up Short

Rancho Verde has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Christian Brothers Falcons.

Christian Brothers was led to victory by Daniel Powers and Stephan Hewitt. Powers dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Hewitt went 7 of 12 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Rabb-Patterson, who posted five points.

Rancho Verde's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Christian Brothers, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-2.

Rancho Verde didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-53 defeat against Desert Pines on the 20th. As for Christian Brothers, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-55 victory against Centennial on the 20th.
