Basketball Recap: Oswego Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Wheaton-Warrenville South

Oswego posted their closest win since January 26th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers, sneaking past 54-51. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Tigers are ranked 92nd).

Oswego now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

Oswego will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Plainfield Central at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Wheaton-Warrenville South also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Batavia at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
