Soccer Game Preview: South East vs. Roosevelt

The South East Jaguars will square off against the Roosevelt Rough Riders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.

On Wednesday, South East was able to grind out a solid victory over Huntington Park, taking the game 3-1. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Spartans are ranked 783rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

David Doroteo and Ulises Davila scored all three of South East's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt lost 6-2 to Bell on Wednesday. The Rough Riders have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

South East has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those eight games. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

South East was able to grind out a solid win over Roosevelt in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 4-2. Will South East repeat their success, or does Roosevelt have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
