Baseball Recap: Millburn Comes Up Short

Millburn was the 13-0 winner over Verona when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Millers fell just short of the Hillbillies by a score of 7-6 on Monday.

Asher Holland made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Stein, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Millburn has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Verona, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Millburn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-3 victory against Newark Central on the 29th. As for Verona, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-1 win against Livingston on the 1st.
