Preview: Carolina Forest Panthers vs. Conway Tigers

The Carolina Forest Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Conway Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Carolina Forest is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Last Thursday, Carolina Forest sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Sumter.

Lydia Gardner spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Carley Hartman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

Meanwhile, Conway entered their tilt with Waccamaw with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 11-1 victory on Monday. Conway might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
