Softball Recap: Umpqua Valley Christian's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Umpqua Valley Christian dropped their record down to 7-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They came up short against the Oakland Oakers, falling 15-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Monarchs were not able to get on the board.

As for Oakland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 11 runs or more this season.

For Oakland's part, Maddie Dalberti made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Dalberti has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, Teagan Fauver was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kelsie Pfaff, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Umpqua Valley Christian will face off against North Douglas at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oakland, they will host Reedsport at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
