Softball Recap: Bear Lake Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Fremont on Saturday, Bear Lake came back down to earth. The Bears fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 11-10 on Saturday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 17-6.

Kambria Romrell and Peyten Crockett did some serious damage despite the final result: Romrell went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Crockett went 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Brooklynn Pope was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Bear Lake's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for South Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bear Lake will face off against Soda Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Fremont, they will challenge American Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Beavers have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
