Softball Recap: GV Christian's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

GV Christian's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Mountain View Christian Saints 17-2. The Guardians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 12 runs or more this season.

Hannah Heaston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with five RBI and three runs.

In other batting news, Callyn Rider was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Malia Arredondo was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.

GV Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

GV Christian's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13. As for Mountain View Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

GV Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain View Christian, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 0-0 defeat against Round Mountain on the 2nd.
