Football Recap: South Lake Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sterling Heights last Friday, South Lake came back down to earth. The Cavaliers had to suffer through a 56-18 loss at the hands of the Marine City Mariners. The defeat continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their meetings with the Mariners: they've now lost eight in a row.

South Lake's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Marine City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. South Lake will square off against St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marine City, they will take on Sterling Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mariners will be up against the Stallions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
