Basketball Recap: Centerville Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Centerville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the East Central Trojans by a score of 51-43 on Wednesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Trojans are ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Landyn Keiser was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 11 en route to 18 points. Jace Hollendonner was another key player, putting up eight points.

Defeat or not, East Central got some senior leadership from Joel Richter and Peyton Hofer. Richter went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points, while Hofer went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Reynolds, who posted six points.

Centerville's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for East Central, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Centerville will square off against Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. As for East Central, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 33-31 win against Franklin County on the 18th.
