Basketball Recap: Lockport Extends Winning Streak to Four

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lockport walked away with it. They blew past the Hutchinson-Central Tech Engineers 79-58 on Friday. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

The victory (which was Lockport's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 21 points. As for Hutchinson-Central Tech, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Coming up, Lockport will challenge McKinley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. McKinley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 games -- so hopefully Lockport likes a good challenge. Hutchinson-Central Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
