Volleyball Recap: Syracuse Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Presley Worthington and Miyah Lish

Syracuse and Skyridge squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Syracuse had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Despite the defeat, Syracuse had strong showings from Miyah Lish, who had ten digs and two blocks, and Presley Worthington, who had 12 digs and two assists. Lish has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 34 times she's played.

Estelle Slaney was a one-woman wrecking crew For Skyridge. as she had 21 digs and two assists.

With the loss, Syracuse broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 22-8. As for Skyridge, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 27-2.

Syracuse didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Mountain Ridge on the 30th. As for Skyridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Corner Canyon on the 30th.
