Softball Game Preview: Canandaigua Academy Braves vs. Brockport Blue Devils

Canandaigua Academy is on a nine-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Brockport a five-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Canandaigua Academy Braves will be playing at home against the Brockport Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Canandaigua Academy's last matchup with Spencerport could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Wednesday. The Braves might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-1 to the Rangers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Canandaigua Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delilah Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Delilah Liddle also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Brockport fell victim to Churchville-Chili and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 11-0 to the Saints.

Canandaigua Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Brockport, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything went Canandaigua Academy's way against Brockport when the teams last played back in April, as Canandaigua Academy made off with a 16-7 win. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
