Baseball Recap: Madelia Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Madelia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Loyola Crusaders a 4-0 shutout on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-4 back in April.

Madelia is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Loyola, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-9.

Madelia didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-3 win against New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva on the 10th. As for Loyola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sleepy Eye at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
