Baseball Recap: East Duplin Has No Trouble Against James Kenan

It was a proper cat-fight when East Duplin took on James Kenan on Tuesday. East Duplin blew past James Kenan 12-2. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

JP Murphy and Cain Graham made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Murphy tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Graham tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because East Duplin is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise. At bat, Murphy scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Graham went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Graham has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Gavin Holmes was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of East Duplin's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Holmes, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

East Duplin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

East Duplin's record now sits at 6-4. As for James Kenan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
