Volleyball Recap: Trego Takes a Loss

Trego was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Golden Plains Bulldogs. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Trego sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-20, 23-25, 25-15.

Their offense was headlined by Bailey Ziegler and Tegan Lang, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Cambrey Klitzke and her 12 assists. Adell Fabrizius controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Trego's loss dropped their record down to 11-20. As for Golden Plains, their win bumped their record up to 19-15-1.

Trego didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Dighton on the 14th. As for Golden Plains, they will challenge Western Plains at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
