Soccer Game Preview: Lebanon vs. Honaker

The Lebanon Pioneers are taking a road trip to face off against the Honaker Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lebanon will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

If Honaker heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Lebanon took over last week. The Pioneers had just enough and edged out Virginia High 2-1. That's two games straight that Lebanon have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Honaker entered their game against George Wythe on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Maroons. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Honaker couldn't quite close it out.

Lebanon's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three matches. As for Honaker, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Everything went Lebanon's way against Honaker in their previous matchup back in March, as Lebanon made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
