Recap: San Diego Cavers vs. Santa Fe Christian Eagles
After a string of four wins, The San Diego Cavers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a tough 35-9 loss at the hands of Santa Fe Christian. The low total for San Diego limited their streak of high-flying scores to four in a row.
Casey Kotcher-smith threw for 104 yards and a touchdown. Tuhlon Duncan was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards. On the ground, Eric Walker-Forney rushed for 60 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Fe Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Pj Rogers, who rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 75 receiving yards. Andrew Hidy was another key contributor, throwing for 171 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
San Diego's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Santa Fe Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
San Diego does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Santa Fe Christian will head out on the road to face off against Grossmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Grossmont: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Santa Fe Christian has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
