Softball Recap: Miller Falls Short Against Ranked Skyline

Miller faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-1. The Cardinals were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but the Tigers' pitchers proved too tough.

Miller's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2. As for Skyline, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Coming up, Miller will head out to challenge Pierce City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.38 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Skyline, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sarcoxie at 5:00 p.m.
