Softball Game Preview: Clements Colts vs. Colbert County Indians

Clements is 2-7 against Colbert County since March of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Colts are taking a road trip to challenge the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Clements has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Clements' offense. They lost 14-0 to Rogers on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Colbert County hadn't done well against Deshler recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Indians walked away with a 5-1 win over the Tigers.

The team relied heavily on Creleigh Gargis, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Colbert County's record is now 35-7. As for Clements, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-18.

Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clements hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Colbert County struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Clements might still be hurting after the 19-4 loss they got from Colbert County in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
