Recap: Compton Tarbabes vs. Lakewood Lancers
The Compton Tarbabes''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Lakewood, falling 42-7. Compton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Lakewood found their leader in underclassman Kade Casillas, who threw for 315 yards and a touchdown while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Holt, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Compton's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.5 points per game. As for Lakewood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Compton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lakewood will head out on the road to face off against King at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
