Football Recap: Deseray Thomas Leads Brawley's Defense on Thursday + How To Watch

Brawley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mission Bay Buccaneers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 74th).

Even if they lost, Brawley's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Deseray Thomas. She also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.

As for Mission Bay, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average this season.
