Baseball Recap: Port St. Joe Makes It Four in a Row at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Port St. Joe ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Brookstone Cougars 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tiger Sharks.

Eli Harris made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Jayden Reese was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Port St. Joe's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Brookstone, they moved to 13-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Port St. Joe wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-5 victory against Tift County on the 4th. As for Brookstone, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-0 win against Chipley on the 1st.
