Basketball Game Preview: Fillmore Flashes vs. Royal Highlanders

The Fillmore Flashes are taking a road trip to face off against the Royal Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fillmore has given up an average of 57.6 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fillmore is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Camarillo on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Flashes were dealt a 73-45 loss at the hands of the Scorpions. While losing is never fun, the Flashes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while the Scorpions are ranked 156th).

Meanwhile, Royal had to suffer through a 61-30 loss at the hands of Newbury Park. The contest marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Fillmore has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Royal, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
