Baseball Recap: Lake Mead Christian Academy Beats Awaken Christian for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Lake Mead Christian Academy won the last time they faced Awaken Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Eagles have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hunter Zierleyn was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lake Mead Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Danny Yeates, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was Yeates' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cameron LaPres, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
