Volleyball Recap: Kingdom Christian Has No Trouble Against Heritage Christian

Kingdom Christian had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Heritage Christian on Thursday. The Lions blew past Heritage Christian 3-0. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Kingdom Christian never let Heritage Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 25-23.

Evie Oglesby paced Kingdom Christian's offense, picking up 11 kills. Oglesby got some help from Olivia Helstad and her eight assists. Helstad was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Kingdom Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Kingdom Christian will face off against Mars Hill Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Heritage Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Monclova Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on September 8.
