Preview: Cedar Valley Aviators vs. Orem Tigers

Cedar Valley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Orem Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 453 points over their last seven games.

Even though Salem Hills scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Cedar Valley still came out on top. Cedar Valley walked away with a 69-58 victory over Salem Hills.

Cedar Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Owen Bawden led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Bawden is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Obed Borruel, who scored six points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Orem had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past Springville 69-44. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Orem has managed all season.

Orem's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chance Dastrup, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 assists. Another player making a difference was Jax Allen, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds.

Cedar Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Orem, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Cedar Valley hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 59.3 points per game. It's a different story for Orem, though, as they've been averaging only 62.3 points per game. The only thing between Cedar Valley and another offensive beatdown is Orem.
