Baseball Recap: Guilford Comes Up Short

Guilford lost against Boylan Catholic back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Vikings took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans.

James Versino was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Riley Kegley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Boylan Catholic, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-14-1.

Coming up, Boylan Catholic will be playing at home against Richmond-Burton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Guilford will be paying especially close attention to the Titans' contest: after the Titans face off against the Rockets, they'll take on Guilford again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
