Baseball Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss

Middletown came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Conard Red Wolves by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The Blue Dragons haven't had much luck with the Red Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jake Haniewski was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Conard, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Middletown will square off against Vinal RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Conard, they will head out to challenge Bristol Eastern at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
