Baseball Game Preview: St. James Wildcats vs. East St. John Wildcats

St. James hasn't had much luck against East St. John recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. James had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt West St. John on Monday. St. James put the hurt on West St. John with a sharp 8-2 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, East St. John narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Bonnabel 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won three in a row.

St. James' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for East St. John, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

St. James beat East St. John 9-4 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does St. James have another victory up their sleeve, or will East St. John turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
