Baseball Recap: Columbian Comes Up Short

If Columbian was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Clyde on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tornadoes fell 8-4 to the Sandusky Blue Streaks on Friday. The Tornadoes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Streaks earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Jayce Arias was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Kason Daily was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Columbian dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sandusky, their win bumped their record up to 12-10-1.

Looking ahead, Columbian will be playing in front of their home fans against Shelby at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Sandusky does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
