Volleyball Game Preview: Agua Fria Owls vs. Estrella Foothills Wolves

Agua Fria is 2-8 against Estrella Foothills since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Owls will venture away from home to square off against the Wolves at 6:00 p.m.

Agua Fria came up short against Peoria on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Estrella Foothills had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Knights.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Estrella Foothills was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-5, 25-15.

Agua Fria better focus on containing Gabby Coronado and Lily Merefield as the pair were huge in Estrella Foothills' win. Coronado had 12 assists and eight aces, while Merefield had 19 assists. Coronado is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Estrella Foothills' win bumped their record up to 19-5-5. As for Agua Fria, their loss dropped their record down to 2-26.

Agua Fria might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Estrella Foothills in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Owls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
