Grand Island and Columbus are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Islanders will head out to face off against the Discoverers at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Grand Island fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Lincoln High on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Links by a score of 1-0. Grand Island have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Columbus' offense. They came up short against Lincoln Southeast on Tuesday, falling 4-0.

Columbus has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Grand Island, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Grand Island was able to grind out a solid win over Columbus when the teams last played on Thursday, winning 3-1. Will the Islanders repeat their success, or do the Discoverers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
