Basketball Recap: Kotzebue Comes Up Short

Kotzebue lost against Barrow back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kotzebue Huskies fell to the Barrow Whalers 68-63. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Whalers are ranked 18th).

Kotzebue's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Barrow, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.

While Kotzebue had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
