Softball Game Preview: Albany Hornets vs. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls

The Albany Hornets are taking a road trip to face off against the Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Albany is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Ascension Catholic just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Willow with a sharp 12-2 victory on Thursday. The Swamp Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy got a massive performance out of Juliet April, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave April a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Curry CMuller, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Albany's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Albany beat Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy 6-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Swamp Owls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
