Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Social Circle

Social Circle extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Derrick White. The Social Circle Redskins came out on top against the Lamar County Trojans by a score of 63-50 on Thursday thanks in part to White, who went 10 for 20 en route to 23 points along with five boards and five steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Leson Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave him a new career-high.

Social Circle has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Lamar County, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

Social Circle will venture away from home to take on Jasper County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jasper County will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Social Circle surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lamar County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-64 win against W D Mohammed on the 25th.
