Softball Recap: Napoleon Has No Trouble Against Vandercook Lake

Napoleon won the last time they faced Vandercook Lake and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates blew past the Jayhawks 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Napoleon got a massive performance out of Jenna Yob, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave Yob a new career-high. Kiera Hoard also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Napoleon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Napoleon's record now sits at 5-7. As for Vandercook Lake, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Coming up, Napoleon will head out to square off against Hillsdale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Vandercook Lake, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Michigan Center at 4:00 p.m.
