Basketball Game Preview: North Mesquite Stallions vs. Samuell Spartans

The North Mesquite Stallions will head out to square off against the Samuell Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Samuell took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on North Mesquite, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, North Mesquite strolled past Wilson with points to spare, taking the game 61-44.

Christian Brooks continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquel Mouton, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Samuell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a hard 66-47 fall against Seagoville. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1295th, while the Dragons are ranked 371st).

North Mesquite is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Samuell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-24.

Everything came up roses for North Mesquite against Samuell when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 61-22 victory. In that contest, North Mesquite amassed a halftime lead of 33-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
