Football Game Preview: Kern Valley Broncs vs. Boron Bobcats + How To Watch

Kern Valley is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Boron Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Kern Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 42 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Lompoc on Friday. They were dealt a 42-10 defeat at the hands of the Braves. The Broncs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.

Meanwhile, Boron took a blow against North on Friday, falling 49-7. The contest marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Kern Valley will have to contain Andrew Gartica as he made an impact in Boron's last game. He picked up 134 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 65 yards on only six carries.

Kern Valley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Boron, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.

Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Carson Parks and Gartica. Parks just won't slow down this season and has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 165.4 rushing yards per game. Gartica has been a dominant force too and has averaged 44.2 rushing yards per game.

Kern Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Boron in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 20-14 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bobcats' Isaiah Morgan, who rushed for 123 yards and a pair of scores.
