Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge Comes Up Short

Cedar Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Melbourne Bearkatz, falling 55-31. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Bearkatz are ranked 27th).

Cedar Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Melbourne, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Ridge will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Melbourne, they will take on Greenbrier in a tournament on Thursday.
