Skipstone Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Covington Academy Bulldogs as the Skipstone Academy Warriors made off with a 15-3 victory. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly 12 runs.
Maddie McRae made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. McRae was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Skipstone Academy got a massive performance out of Ella Evans, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Ava Ballenger was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Skipstone Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Skipstone Academy's record is now 3-0. As for Covington Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skipstone Academy will head out to square off against Creekside Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Creekside Christian Academy their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Covington Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Scholars Guild Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
