Basketball Recap: Willamette Comes Up Short

After flying high against Churchill last Friday, Willamette came back down to earth. The Wolverines lost to the Roseburg Indians at home by a 48-34 margin on Thursday. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Willamette has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Roseburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

While Willamette had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
