Volleyball Game Preview: Willow Canyon Wildcats vs. Ironwood Eagles

Willow Canyon is 2-8 against Ironwood since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Willow Canyon will square off against Ironwood at 4:00 p.m. Ironwood took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Willow Canyon, who comes in off a win.

Willow Canyon took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on North with a sharp 3-0 win.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-12, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Ironwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Arizona College Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since March 6th.

Ironwood couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Arizona College Prep a tough time in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 34-32, 25-22, 25-21.

Ironwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Willow Canyon, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Willow Canyon was able to grind out a solid win over Ironwood in their previous meeting on March 8th, winning 2-0. Does Willow Canyon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ironwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
