Basketball Recap: Marianna Takes a Loss

The Marianna Bulldogs were beaten by the Milton Panthers 76-45 on Thursday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Marianna still got an impressive performance from Mason Mobley, who shot 59% from the field on his way to 24 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Mobley's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Logan Lipford also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Marianna's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Milton, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Marianna and Malone will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The Bulldogs will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Milton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Walton Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
