Basketball Game Preview: South Summit Wildcats vs. Ogden Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the South Summit Wildcats face off against the Ogden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday... South Summit will be strutting in after a victory while Ogden will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, South Summit didn't have too much trouble with Ben Lomond as they won 74-56. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Scots are ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ogden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Morgan, falling 69-44. The Tigers were down 53-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

South Summit is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Ogden, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

South Summit was able to grind out a solid win over Ogden when the teams last played on January 10th, winning 55-48. Does South Summit have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ogden turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
