Baseball Recap: Nampa Find Success

Nampa hadn't done well against Columbia recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 14-11. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in March, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Stauffer, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI and one run. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Tyson Brazil was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Nampa and bumps their season record up to 6-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Columbia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Nampa will head out to face off against Boise at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Brave have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.24 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Columbia, they will welcome Emmett at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
