Baseball Recap: Maquoketa Comes Up Short

Maquoketa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central DeWitt. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly five runs.

Maquoketa's loss dropped their record down to 4-21-1. As for Central DeWitt, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Central DeWitt beat Maquoketa by a score of 15-5 later that day.
