The Tri-Valley Scotties will head out to take on the Morgan Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Tri-Valley's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Morgan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
West Muskingum hit Tri-Valley with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Scotties fell just short of the Tornadoes by a score of 7-6.
Ashlyn Davis put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Alivia Reffitt made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run.
Meadowbrook hit Morgan with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders came up short against the Colts, falling 7-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Raiders' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Morgan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blair Clawson, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
Morgan's record now sits at 8-7. As for Tri-Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Tri-Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Morgan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
