Basketball Recap: West Logan Christian Academy Takes a Loss

West Logan Christian Academy played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Phelps Hornets, falling 58-36. The Warriors were down 47-23 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Caleigh McCoy was a one-woman wrecking crew For Phelps. as she posted 25 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kaylyn Slone, who had 15 points and five rebounds.

West Logan Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Phelps, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

West Logan Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Victory Baptist Academy on January 15, 2026. As for Phelps, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Magoffin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
