 Northeastern Clinton fell victim to Peru and their airtight pitching crew  on Wednesday. They suffered a  rough 10-0 defeat at the hands of the Peru Nighthawks. Northeastern Clinton has not had much luck with Peru recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
 For Peru's part,  Landen Duprey and  Jake Frechette made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing,  Duprey   struck out six batters over  two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Meanwhile,  Frechette   kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. At bat,  Duprey  scored a  run while going 1-for-4, while  Frechette  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Donnie Mitchell was a standout: he scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kalib Smith, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Northeastern Clinton now  has a losing record at 1-2. As for Peru, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
 While Northeastern Clinton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
